I recently picked up a rather large batch of parts from a contact that has sold their 63 and had left over parts. Here was one item I pulled that make me smile - a 1963 Indiana License Plate. For extra cool point s it has A 64 as part of the numbers. Being a NC resident I have several 1963 and 1964 original plates which we can use on the car, as long as we keep the real plates & registration in the car. Unlike some states, NC does not link the vintage plate to the new plate ... which means I would love to hop out on one of those toll express lanes in Texas! Ha Ha.

Not sure if I will hang this on the garage wall or part ways and let a 63 Cadillac Owner take it. We only have a few Indiana Chapter Members, but this would look cool restored.  For now it will go up on my wall with my other plates.

Very cool! I keep original 1964 Illinois plates on my car! They are purple.

I actually have two sets of 64 Illinois plates. The set I use for shows is a NOS set that was never used in the original envelope from the SOS office. Ill have to post some photos on here when I dig them out again.

We just moved into a new home, I tries really hard to keep all my 64 stuff in one spot!

We need to do a "Show Your Plate" Thread!

This sounds like a great idea! I'll see if I cant find my NOS plates tomorrow...

Will repost to the "Show Your Plate" when it's up. About 21 years ago I registered my car as an antique and received my specialty plates from the State of Texas (pic below). I was not thrilled with look of those plates so decided to try the find some year of manufacture plates which are legal to be registered to antique or classic cars here. I bid on 2 different sets of 1963 Texas plates hoping I might win one set. I wound up winning both sets. The best set was fresh from the prison factory still in package with the paper in between them (pic below). I think I paid $20 for one set & $25 for the other. Boy have things changed! It looks like "virgin" plates are going for 10X that these days.

I'll take that plate when you do decide to let it go.

Looking on the garage wall I already had a few other out of state plates so it made sense to add it to the collection. I am going to start another license plate thread and may eventually post a few of the others.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

accumulator dryer

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
