I've discover the previous owner of my 64 reversed the locations of the muffler and resonator; the resonator is under the driver and the muffler is in the rear. I've just received a new system from Classic Exhaust in Ohio but it came without hangers. My question is where can I find the original style hangers for the exhaust system?

I have some of the stock hangers.   Shoot me an email to;  russ85747@hotmail.com   Not sure of a new source though.

Bob I puchased the same system I believe from eBay. If your doing it yourself don't slide the pipes into each other to far and it'll go on fine. You will need two people to make the job easier or you can slowly snug up each pipe clamp so it will hold in place as you adjust it but still not move.

I will say I'm not totally happy with the sound as I find its a bit loud and the resonator is a homemade job. I was looking for stock replacement for quietness and it is far off.

I looked up waldrons exhaust on line. That would be great if they had new pieces.  I didn't see hangars specifi for the 63/64, but it was late, and one would need to call them.

So I called Waldron’s Exhaust and they do have new OEM style hangers. They have very few in stock and get from a third party when needed. I order a set which should arrive in 2 weeks.

Are you talking about the entire bracket assemblies are just the U bolt, 2 nuts and cradle clamp. the complete hanger assemblies are quite different and quite elaborate.

Here is the first bracket assembly behind the muffler:

And here's the 2nd  toward the center:

Here is one showing the rear section

I specifically asked for the 3 hanger assemblies as shown in the pictures and they said they have them for the muffler, center and the one in the rear at the resonator. We'll see what shows up at my doorstep in about 2 weeks.

Let us know if they are an exact reproduction. I might get a set for my Caddy.

That's great to hear. Hopefully it will be a good setup.  Please keep us posted with pics.

Jason, thanks for the original pics.

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
