New Source for Original Reproduction 4 Piece Rubber Floor Mats for $349

Since USA Parts went under a few years ago, finding original 4 piece rubber floor mats for our cars at a reasonable price has been a challenge.  Caddy Daddy has bend selling them for $499 which seems steep.

Yesterday, during our Chapter Zoom Meet-Up, Marty Smith told us about Legendary Auto Interiors and the fact they sold them for $349, and that he had picked up a set, and was was very pleased with the quality.  So, at least for now we have a source for the mats $150 less than the Caddy Daddy price!

Below is a copy of the entry I added to our Parts & Service Page:

  • Legendary Auto Interiors - www.legendaryautointeriors.com
Source for original style rubber floor mats.  Price as of Dec 19, 2022 is $349 for the pc set.

USA Parts is still taking phone and email orders. (681) 252-4639 is the number you can reach them on. The number on their website is dead. I think after they closed for a bit they're still trying to get back up in running so definitely ask what they have in stock before ordering. I've been waiting on a set of tailfin lenses and a few other small parts for awhile but the rest of my order came in just fine.

I knew they were trying to reboot. It would be interesting if they can still provide the floor mats. There website is still up, and their 2019 Catalog is still available which to me has been an invaluable resource in selling parts because someone took the time way back to add the Cadillac Parts Group #'s next to the general names we all use for parts.. When I need to go to the Master Parts Book to look up parts and not sure of the parts group # or even the Chapter to turn to, I grab my USA Parts catalog as a involuntary action at this point. They were also very good with their pricing and usually had the item in stock.  I monitor a lot of sites and just haven't heard much about the product or service in this revamp phase.

Just to add a bit about USA Parts and my vague understanding of what is going on.
The company went through bankruptcy and liquidation back in 2019.  Before and even after I have had direct and very positive dealings with Mike Cannan (I believe owner of USA Parts) both before and after the bankruptcy.

From my perspective it seems he ended up with some remaining stock and has been selling it off. they have a Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/usapartssupply where they are rebranded as Classic USA Parts. They also show a new website at http://classicusaparts.com/ but that has always pointed to an under construction site.

If Mike and Classic USA Parts have moved back into the business in acquiring and selling new reproductive parts that would be new to me. I guess there is a chance he still has some stock of the mats, and perhaps there are good deals to be made.

One final observation, if you look at the Facebook reviews, almost all of the older reviews were excellent. The couple of recent reviews not so great. I am pulling for Mike and USA Parts (or Classic USA Parts) to return to their former level of parts and service.. but just n not sure of the current situation or availability.

I saw their reviews recently haven't been good. It's a shame because they've had some of the best prices for years. They told me half of my order was just on backorder and it has been some time so I can see how people who need a part quickly might be upset. I really hope they can get it together over there because it is one of my go to places for reproduction parts.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
