I have parts car #48 sitting in front of my bay with Dino the Gold 64 Caddy inside, and HE is ready to get out and about so I am pushing myself to get this one stripped to the point I can get the parts car out of the way and up on the car hauler.... but.... when you find those 429's (or 390's) with that blue tipped cork, it is time to pop the 429 cork and savor the goods! While, it is recommended to reinstall cork with a rebuild or reinstall of the balancer it is usually not done, and is a good indication you have an unmolested original engine! OK... back to the fun!

Always nice to find one that hasn't been abused! Maybe this one really did belong to a little old lady that only drove it to church on Sunday?
Getting close to pulling the engine and will see how it looks inside. I use to pull almost the entire engine out then remove externals such as intake, balancer, front cover, valley pan, alternator, sending units. etc. but now tend to remove most externals sitting in the engine bay as it makes a nice work stand! About the only thing left on the engine when I lift up and out these days is the heads, exhaust manifolds, starter, and adaptor ring, flexplate, and motor mounts, and they come off within minutes of lifting it up and out.
Holy cow! I never heard of this. I checked my 64 Caddy CdV while in the garage tonight and I just had to go look. Damn, there it was! Tried to get a photo but couldn't. My car is an original survivor, 89K on the clock. Runs pretty well considering, but it leaks *everywhere*.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
