Hi all,
I am in the process of replacing my steering gear box. Upon removal I notice that the rag joint is showing some stress, my car has tilt wheel. My question is, are the rag joints common between tilt and non-tilt cars or are they different? So before I start researching for a replacement part I want to be sure I get the correct one. Thanks everyone.

Jim

According  to the info in Tilt Steering Conversion under HELP Topics, they are different. I don't know the difference, mines non-tilt. HTH

Hi Jim, Tilt is smaller diameter on the column side. I have very nice, used non-tilt rag joints with excellent masticated rubber, ground wire etc. for $35 + s/h.  If you need tilt I would need to double check. Email at jasonedge@nc.rr.com if interested and provide a shipping address.

Hi Jason thanks for the quick response. I figured there had to be some difference. My car has tilt, if you get the chance to see if you have one I would appreciate it. Jim
I checked and I am out of the tilt rag joint. If Russ or one of the others don't have one, give me a shout at jasonedge@nc.rr.com and I will put you on the Wait List for one.

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
