We had an interesting discussion in our Chapter Zoom meet-up today regarding this Slide Film of a 64 Eldorado that I had bought and scanned in earlier today. It was purchased with other original Cadillac Promo prints and had not scanned in until today and I was pleasantly surprised to find several unique characteristics about this car.

The wheels with double thin white walls and triangular caps similar to "The Florentine" are obvious but there are a few others. This will make an appearance in our May newsletter but thought I would throw it out there.

So who sees the other unique features and who know more about this car... Is it a prototype, promo car,  concept car, etc.?

Its gorgeous. The spoke wheels and double white walls are excellent. Zooming in on the tires its hard to tell if hubcaps or actual bespoke wheels. I believe its not hubcaps as there is a hint of inner spokes. Maybe even seeing the drum brakes, especially on the front wheel.

Two other items things that seem missing are the rear fender Eldorado badge and the lower chrome trim between the wheels.

It could just be the weird angle, but the wiper cowl looks different on this one and it also doesn't seem to have an antenna.

Good eye. I’m in Tallahassee to pick up the next parts car and staring at on my phone but will look at on my 4K 50” monitor when I get home. I see something in antenna area but looks like something scanner picked up. The chrome cowl grill does look different with the 2 darkish horizontal areas but could just be shadow. Looking at that area close up the wiper arms also seem to have a lot if shine (ie. chrome) like found on the 75 series& CC, instead of the satin finish on other body styles.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
