My grandfather's name scribbled on the back of the Borg clock sometime back when it was last serviced probably circa the 70's.

A couple of comments here.  There were actually two different internal workings to the Westclox clocks.  Then obviously the internal workings of the Borg clock are different.  I don't have a handle on the reliability of the 3 styles and which one was better.  I do find it interesting that the Borg cycle time for the rewind function is 2 minutes versus the 1-minute rewind cycle in the Westclox.  Maybe it has to do with how much spring each company designed into the workings of the clock.  Anyway, yes I would be glad to take any parts as spares, even the one that has the knob and glass cannibalized off of it because I have spares of those parts and I might be able to put together a working clock of all those spares.  I am going to be at the Grand National in June so you could just bring the parts to Albuquerque if you want.  I also plan on bringing any working clock that I might have to the Grand National.    Pat

Chris, Cool to have  your grandfathers writing on the clock. That is some Cadillac Family Heritage there. I am sure Chapter Member Pat Westphal would appreciate the other clock as a donor for parts. I believe he said once we included his "free clock exchange for Chapter members" he was a bit overwhelmed with requests and I believe running out of spares. I had sent him post of my spares.

Hey Tony, yes it's pretty interesting that they used two different companies to produce these clocks. I actually picked up a Westclox a few years back just to steal the knob off of it. I was thinking about donating it to the guy in our group that said he was fixing these for free, but it needs a new glass and now the knob I cannibalized off of it as well as fixing whatever else is wrong with it.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
