I've been using the Autolite AP85 in my 63. Closest heat range I could find to match the AC44 that came in the car. The standard Autolite 85 would be the same heat range.

Excellent- Thanks Jason. That is just the info I needed. Much appreciated. If I cannot find them locally, I will order them from you.

I ran Bosch Platinum and high performance plugs,   some hotter and some colder heat range, but went back to the old standby and use a Champion Copper RJ12YC.  Seems to run like a "champ"... no pun intended. If you need any of these I sell for $20 a set and have about 8 sets on hand.  I would have to go back and look at heat range (I think the 12 puts it a bit toward the hotter range as I recall?) of this plug but it seems to work well on my 64 CDV. I could  not tell ANY different from using these vs the platinum plugs.  It was what was cross referenced by Champion for the car and that is what I use.

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 13 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
