Alright, I am going in for a new top on the 64 deville and was told I am missing the center bow fastening strip.  It sits right above your head and keeps the top from ballooning out.  Any gm car of this style will work--any help out there?  It is flat on top with a curved bottom and a slit from end to end that the screws fit into when they are sent through the center bow.  Thanks in advance.  Also, looking for door panels--I will have them recovered so color is not important--just need to be intact--thanks again

I found the convertible top part

Phil,

I need the center felt silencer.  did you happen to find that as well?  if not, anyone else know where to find this part.  It keeps the top from slapping around.

thanks.

Striking out on this piece unfortunately.  If there's a kind soul that has a ragtop who could take a picture of what theirs looks like and send it to me, i'd greatly appreciate it.   Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the pictures of the convertible.  That looks terrific (actually identical to mine!)  The picture i need is of the center Bow felt, that goes from the drivers side to the passenger side. I have the metal piece that goes in there but i don't have the piece of felt.  Hope this helps.

Don't know if this is a 63 or 64 but is in my convertible photo files. Hope the photo helps

Gene, thanks for the pictures.  what we're (assumed we), are looking for is the top of the middle bow.  the one that shows the 4 screws on the bottom.  There should be a piece of felt or something that goes between the top and the bow.  If you could get a picture of that, I'm sure we would all be appreciative.  thanks in advance,

I'm missing this part as well. I had my top redone 8 years ago and they left it out on mine. It's a shame because it does make a bunch of racket without it.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
