Hi

Need to replace my rear wheel bearing and seal on my 1964 Conv., does anyone know if its a big project and what I will need before I pull the shaft out? I also need to know the parts number and where to get a good bearing and seal.

Thanks

Dominic

Dominic,

It's not that big a job. You will need a slide hammer to remove the bearing/axle shaft. You can borrow or rent one from an auto parts store. I can't recall offhand if you need to remove the brake components from the backing plate or not. The old bearing will have to be removed by a machine shop with a press, same for installing the new one.

Thanks Ian

Super easy job so do it yourself without wasting $$$ on some shop!

if one of them went bad then I’d highly suggest you to both sides! This way you can replace gaskets and the oil as well. Just slide out both axels and take it toNapa or other shop to have bearing replaced.

i would recommend you the SKF bearings.

Mack

Do I need bearing and gaskets, where do the gaskets go or is it for the rear end cover gasket. I'm going to have my mechanic do it but I want to get him all the parts as these parts are not always standard.

My reservoir is a little low. Any recommendations on my purchase of refill fluid? There are likely new fluids and I’d like to buy the right product. Thanks. Continue

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
