General question about davis d.u.i distrbutors
I hv one of these on my 73 eldo, will i need some heavy duty spark wires for this type of distrbutor as opposed to 8mm belden wires?

They are one of the only people using the very old —-Sun dist machine — used back in the day that can correctly calibrate the stock 63 64 dist to stock specs if that should be needed or checked for its current condition
Our older style dist are very different than many new designs that are electronic used in all cars todayA very special service

No. Justv73, it came on car when bout. Had some missfires, and hv it down to wire problem, so replacing them

The ignition wiring is very often overlooked and if not replaced will cause a visible arch in the dark from the wire to the nearest engine metal ( a blue spark ) Ask me how I know !
If you get antifreeze on the wire covering from an overheat issue ( broken hose ) it will damage the wirings covering and cause a problem
Ignition wiring has a long term maintenance interval that adds to the issue of them not getting changed as they should

The 73 came w the distributr i posted, for part reference. Its funny, when i bought tge car, it tokk off at lights like a spotted ape. I thought it wss either an accelerator adjustment needed. It just jumped from dead stop. Had to consciuously ease it on for smooth take off. Now, unknowingly, and upon futther readings, these belden premiums should be fine. But after replacing all 8, takeoff is smooth as butter. No hesitation or missing, even at cold engine. I am jist hoping that they werevall in some sort of worn condition and new wiring git it bk on line. I cked timing, all was as it shoud be. The whole acceleration is just much smoother

Rumble Sound at 55-60 mph

64 Coupe DeVille , while driving at 55-60 mph I have a oscillating rumble sound . Steering wheel does not shake or vibrate . Transmission mount looks good .Tires were replaced 2 years ago balanced and rebalanced recently. Axel bearings were just replaced, rear differential assembly was just replaced with a Posi track ,pinion bearings good. Fresh gear lube. Driveshaft checked and balanced the other day ,new center bearing installed and new bearing carrier assembly too. Trying to figure this…

Hello I've been restoring a 63 for way to many years. Down to almost done, but have issue with trans linkage, when column in park shift rod 2 inches short. everything original. been trying to find picture of manual rod hooked up from under car to see position of linkage. was wondering if anybody has access for pictures. I wanted to see if my manual linkage is bent wrong out of the trans if somebody dropped the trans or something. Doesn't make sense why it doesn't work. Thanks for any input…
