got call from shop today, the gasket around the oil filter adapter (???) was leaking and needs replace.  It apparently was independent of the oil pump 4 screw gasket that they replaced.  so i went out to see what he was talking about.  Now i dont have the manual in front of me,  but its the part, apparently that holds the oil filter, there is a gasket at top and bottom of this part,  he had it off ,so i called around a bit, fel pro didnt have it so they sent me to EGGE,, they had two gaskets, i am assuming they are correct from my description, and i told him to just send both, but my question is, if i were to search some more on some of the online sites, what would i be searching for as a description in the search,, what would the searchable term be.

Sincerely

Kim

How much oil should i pour in to prime the oil pump,,??  bout got this wrapped up,,, hopefully,, just hoping the gasket will seal and hold,, i used the permeated ultra black to adhere to the cover and a small spread to adhere to the face of the pump,,,

thanks,

Not saying this is something you should do, but I replaced my gaskets on the oil pump last year. Didn't even consider to look in the manual as the job is very easy to do. So was not aware of the pump priming. Have run the car since then and no issues at all. Maybe I get down the line...

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
