Eventually I’ll replace the speedo cable if needed but I believe the dash will need to come out to do that. However, shortly, I will be replacing the transmission on my 64 Fleetwood and I was wondering when we plug the Speedo cable into the new trans, is there a lubricant I can get into there? It makes noise especially when cold. Figure it might help a little.
Thanks!
Logan
Also, I’ll upload a few photos of the “Craigslist Rebuild” I did on the trans. No full rebuild, but the case and pan sure looks better! Hoping this used trans from Jason does the trick until I can find a shop that’ll touch a 64 TH400

Logan ,Remove the dash pad and unscrew the speedo cable from the speedometer pull the cable from the housing, spray some brake cleaner on a rag and run it down the cable to remove the old grease until its clean you may want to spray some brake cleaner down the cable housing until it runs out the other end then blow the housing dry with a blow gun. Then lube the cable with white lithium grease or vaseline and reinstall it into the housing that should end your noisy cable.
This sounds like a good plan however, I don’t plan to remove my dash at this time. That’s why I was wondering if there was a lube I could get into from the trans side.
I know what you suggested is the right way to do it, but I’m not taking dash off right now. So got to do what I can

My reservoir is a little low. Any recommendations on my purchase of refill fluid? There are likely new fluids and I’d like to buy the right product. Thanks. Continue

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
