hi all
i need an intake manifold it anyone can advise if they know of one. also I have sourced one here in Australia but it appears to be off a 1960 engine. I have been told 3 stories - one that it will bolt in - one that it will need an extra gasket and one that it wont fit. anyone have any experience fitting older intake manifolds to 64 engines>?

thanks mate!
That's fantastic, John. It always feels good to get these cars back on the road!
just to finish this blog - intake manifold from USA is on the car - gaskets that block the exhaust gas entering the intake manifold heat stove installed, (heat riser has been removed previously) - timing issue mentioned in another blog post now sorted and carby rebuilt !!
so finally drove the car today with everything correct and its the bomb!!! yeah !!
I know I emailed you about this Russ - others may have comment -- I have read about people who have put a small piece of sheet metal across the inlet manifold gasket where the exhaust rises up.
in Australia we do not need any heat rising off exhausts thats for sure.
can these manifolds be welded if they are cracked?
Just to be clear the casting part # is what you see on the intake. There is also a Casting Date # and then what I call a catalog part #. If you go into a Cadillac Parts Department they have a Catalog Parts # to reference Item and these often changed as we can see in the example above between the 66 - 68 Master Parts book vs the 69 listing which as the same part # for 59 to 66 intakes.
... at least not on intake manifolds.
No.
does the part number reside on the manifold anywhere jason?

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
