Our Carolina Region Newsletter Editor Travis Dowell turned the spotlight on himself (very deservedly I might add) and discussed some of his estimated 50 Cadillacs in the last newsletter. That got me to thinking it might be fun to list Cadillacs other than 63's and 64's that we have owned or still own. It gives someone insight into someone else's association with the Cadillac Brand.
Here is my list:
1982 Coupe DeVille - Silver - sold years ago
1991 Brougham DeElegance - White with red leather interior (changed vinyl top to Burgandy Later) - sold probably 10+ years ago.
1995 Flleetwood Brougham - (95/96 Fleetwoods are the best riding Cadillacs Ever! ...my opinion and sticking with it) - sold about 7 years ago. bought from one owner older couple when it had 66K miles and drove until it had probably about 130K miles. Cheryl had been using it as a daily driver and being longer and wider than the 63/64 Cadillacs (but not heavier of course) and not the greatest on gas mileage for her, and things starting to have to be replaced (read window regulators!) it was time to sell but would love to find another low mileage 95/96 Fleetwood Brougham.
2002 Escalade EXT - Black - has 91K miles and is my daily driver. have added 22" vogue rims, headers, dual exhaust, power chip, DVD headrests, etc. I've always had trucks and when I sold my last Chevy truck knew I had to have the Cadillac of Trucks. Extremely versatile vehicle. LIke the Avalance, has sealed rear section, rear side locking tool boxes, rear wall that opens up to extend into the cab for hauling large items.
OK...what other Cadillacs besides 63's and 64's have you owned? Tell us something about them if you like.

First car 64 Six Window Sedan deVille. I owned the car for 21 years. Virtually everyone in my family used the car at some point when theirs was not working. The car always started and always got back home on its own power. I had to sell it 15 years ago when I bought the new house. Found out recently that Jason got it in 2006 as a parts car. It deserved better.
Next was a 1964 Fleetwood. Bought it as a parts car for $450. Grandfather convinced me to play with the engine for a while before parting it out for his and my car. We got it running, good! I then drive it for over 100,000 miles on the engine without rebuilding it. Eventually did part it out 12 years later.
Next was a 62 62 Series Convertible, for $10. Got it running to. Had it for 5 years. Nothing is more fun than a $10 car. Traded it for a 58 Fleetwood.
My next car was my father's 76 Fleetwood Brougham. I insisted that he buy it brand new. He was thinking of another Lincoln Uugh! Took me 10 years to convince him to finally sell it to me. This car made the rounds of the different family members using it too. Hated to see it sink to the bottom of the lake! What a shame for such a great car.
Then came the 58 Fleetwood. Had not planned to buy it. Just drove the old 62 convertible to go look at it and the guy offered a trade. I have never regretted trading either, although the guy did try to buy it back later on.
Next was a 67 Fleetwood Brougham. Nice car, just not for me. It did not compare to the 64 Fleetwood I parted out. Once I got the transmission fixed, it needed a modulator valve for $20, I flipped it.
Next was the car of my dreams. My Grandfather's 64 62 Series Coupe. It car I wanted since I was 4 when my father bought it brand new. my Grandfather bought it from him a year and a half later. I then inherited it and will own it the day I die.
Next up was a 74 Fleetwood Talisman. Still missed the 76 that got totalled several years before, and since 75 and newer were going to be subject to emission inspections, decided the 74 was the one to replace it with. I know Jason says the 95-96 Fleetwoods are teh best riding, but have you been in a Talisman? The Broughams do not compare to the Talismans in ride comfort. As Maurice Henry said "truly decadent".
Then the last Cadillac I bought, a 64 Fleetwood. I decided I needed a better car than the 74 Talisman as my everyday driver. I could not find any car better than the 74, other than a 64 Cadillac.
So, currently I have four, the 58 Fleetwood, the 64 Fleetwood, the 74 Fleetwood Talisman (Can you see a pattern?) and my grandfather's 64 62 Series Coupe. I hope to never sell any of them.
Ryan, I would love a CTS-V also. Matt, we will do a wish list next! Don, you have started out with a "most excellent" year!

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
