Here's some video underneath my 64 CDV with the rebuilt engine and custom duals. This setup was sold previously and just leaving up as an example.

I would google for exhaust shops that do custom work (i.e. can bend and run new pipe), and call in advance. Luckily I have the same shop that did mine just over 1 mile from the house. Go into more white collar Raleigh, NC and they will be more your typical "pre-bent / name brand install" shops. Honestly, I would be embarrassed to own an exhaust shop and not be able to do custom bends and runs... but that is just my background. There are also over 30 CLC members in the UK, including a couple in our 63/64 Chapter. I would suggest joining the CLC and reaching out to fellow UK CLC members in your area for references. With CLC membership which starts at only $35 for online level, you get a directory with contact info for all members, and I see many UK members with Cadillacs ranging from the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, and beyond and know they would have similar issues and could probably point out some exhaust and other shops. I know when I need new work done on my cars, I go straight to our local two Carolina CLC regions for references. It is really hard to put a value on that type of information.
Milo, Are the exhaust shops trying to fabricate pipes without the car onsite? I've had custom pipes on 64 Cadillacs installed 3 times, and never had to provide measurements. I just pulled the car into their bay, and they did their thing. If trying to make pipes up without the car on site ... now that would be difficult. I've had different and custom pipes installed on numerous Chevrolets over the years and again never had to give any measurements. Perhaps, these old school exhaust shops where they just run some lines, and fabricate on the fly is becoming a lost art form? Most of the exhaust shops I dealt with prided on the fact they could run a pipe anywhere they needed to.
The outer diameter of the Y pipe at the muffler is 2 1/2". I do not understand the question regarding the length as the area between the exhaust manifold/Y-pipe connection to the muffler is not linear but curved. The outermost , innermost, and side lengths down the pipe, say taken with a fabric tape measure following the contour of the pipe will all be very different and not sure how useful any of this would be if you are doing a custom job. Any decent exhaust shop is going to be able to fabricate as needed. If still interested in length, post a picture with arrows exactly between the 2 locations you want a length, and let me know you need inner, outer or side measurement.
I've got a 1/2 dozen or more Y pipes and will try to remember to get a measurement tomorrow after our ENC CLC meet-up.
Milo, Not sure what you mean by "silencer"? The original setup included a muffler at front under driver, and the a resonator at the very back. Both "silenced" the exhaust sound, so not sure which you are referring to. Once you go custom it is pretty much whatever you want to do but I think it probably helps to have the main mufflers toward the front to reduce in pipe sound. The resonators basically helped to kill the engine rumble. I now have the original style replacement from Classic Exhaust out of Ohio under the car and it is much, much quieter than the dual flow master setup. If I had a resto-mod or custom car, hot-rod-cad I might like that sound (or if I were 18 again!), but that loud roar was not where I was headed with my 64 CDV as I gradually restore much of it to original style components.
For reference of the original setup, There re pretty decent pictures of the resonator location in Shop Manual on page 8-4, Fig 8-4 and the other bracket locations scattered throughout the next few pages. Here is an exhaust I pulled from a parts car a couple years ago:
My exhaust has passed its prime and I'm thinking about going with dual exhaust this time around. I'll post up a video once I get it all done.
Someone asked about my custom dual exhaust I had a while back and found this video I took. I tell ya, if I ever do a custom job and want some throaty dual exhaust sound I might look at this setup again. It was pretty tight and not that expensive to do, other than the cost of those flowmasters.
Thanks, Christopher..it's not perfect but not bad either. Just clean and paint up a bit as I go....definitely not frame off. I've still got the main section under the floor boards that look like they have undercoating mixied with dirt and grim. Don't see myself taking it to the metal but cleaning and painting up a bit.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
