I read the section: 1963 & 1964 Engine and Transmission Facts, but still in doubt if the engine block of a 63 and 64 are the same and interchangeable?
More specifically, will I be able to use all my internal parts, heads and intake from my ´63 on a ´64 block. Except for the pistons.
I found a crack in the block of my freshly rebuilt ´63 engine. Sourcing a ´63 block here in Europe is not easy, and if a ´64 block is the same except for the bore, that might ease the seach.

If it were that easy, it would been done already. The pistons have a different pin height, so you can not just slap in 429 pistons into a 63 rotating assembly.
You can however put in a 64 engine with the Hydra Matic crank. It bolts right up to the car and transmission. I am also working on an adaptor ring so a 64 engine with the Turbo Hydramatic crank will bolt right into a 63.
Internals, other than the lifters and push rods, are different. Cylinder heads are very different due to different bore and odd size head bolts used in 64. Intakes are the same 63 to 66. Front engine covers can be swapped if you use the correct oil pump gears for that year cover. Oil pans are interchangeable. Left exhaust manifolds are the same. Right exhaust manifolds are different. 64 has 2 different crankshaft depending on transmission. Valve covers are generally interchangeable but may have some differences in external heater hose brackets.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
