GASP! Yes, I know tires get talked about ALL the time. So here we go again.

235/75/R15 seem to be the standard replacement for the 8.2x15 bias ply.

I ~REALLY~ want to put bias ply on my 64 Fleetwood, however, I think my front end needs a decent overhaul before that happens. I need tires before I’ll be able to overhaul the front end. SO. That being said, I’m looking for the best looking white wall radials for a decent price I can find.

Close to the factory white wall spec, but if it’s a little wider, I won’t complain. Nothing too wide tho.

Thanks all!

Robb, I dont know what you are willing to spend, but i purchased Diamond Back Classics  8.25 x 15 Radials with a 1 inch whitewall and the pie crust edge @ the tread on the sidewall . I told them my original spare tire had a one inch white wall so they made it for me. The tire is the AUBURN DELUXE they where $1100.00 for four. Heck now days you spend that much putting tires on a half ton Chevy pickup.

How about some pics? Love to see that! That’s a reasonable price I think. $275 per. Not bad.

It’s getting harder to find white walls at any price.  I bought four Cooper Trendsetters at a local Discount Tire several years ago at about $80 each (can’t remember if that was before or after the excise tax, disposal fee, warranty and other “add on s”).

Another member posted a pic of this type of tire at:

Here’s another

Oh those look really nice! Thank you!

Personally Id go with the BF Goodrich L78x15 dual white wall tires that Coker sells. The width is more like 8.85 and according to research these were strictly a Cadillac tire. They retail for 330 a tire. I know I certainly plan on getting a set as I think it'll look much better than the nubby Yokohama tires that are on the gal now.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

accumulator dryer

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
