Trivia Question 12 - What's Missing in the Rear Passenger Area of the Series 62 Coupes?

On the 1963 and 1964 Series 62 Coupes there is one thing in particular that is missing in the rear passenger area that is found in all the other body styles including the 1963 and 1964 Series 62 Sedans.

Hint: it is a very common item especially for 1963 and 1964.

BINGO!!!! Mark gets the Cigar... just has no way to light it.
Since the coupe did not have the separate switch pods like the sedans, and instead just had the long rear qtr arm rests, they only had ash receptacle, but no cigarette lighter.  You can find this information in the Dealer Data Book, Spec Manuals and Brochures. I have included scans of the 1963 and 1964 Series 62 Coupe below including the interior illustration and listing of standard equipment.

So... .A Big Cigar for Mark but now Lit Cigar for those in the back seat of a 1963 or 1964 Series 62 Coupe... Bummer!

Rear Seat Belt Option?

Coat hanger?

OK. New game...What is the error on this page?

That's not the rear door unless I drive mine backwards.

Bingo, Kevin get's a cigar.  Just can't light it from the back!  Good eye on that Kurt!  You get a cigar, also!!

ps... I've got one of those brainy, over the top, head scratcher - trivia questions I might post tomorrow. It is so obvious we might have to get Tony in on it.

Remember the Tire Trivia #11 when I asked what car spec was different between the Eldos with the standard 8.2 tires and the others with the 8.0 tires and we had 3 pages of guessing before Tony finally stepped up and uttered the famous line "raising the car a bit"!

This is another one of those trivia question answers so obvious you might miss it!   Stay tuned....

Well Kevin, you do drive it on the wrong side of the road  : )

And upside down to you guys too. Lucky for us, the southern hemisphere has better gravity. :-)

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
