Hi Karl, I was looking at your 1963 Cadillac wiring diagram and was wondering if you considered doing one for the 1964 Cadillac. I have bought one from www.classiccarwiring.com and yours is much better, not to mention the 1963 version from them is incorrect with wiring to 1964 Comfort Control components! I have sent you a pm and and email.

Hello Karl Schwarz,
I have just purchased a 1964 cadillac convertible.
In reality it's more of a cadillac wreck but it seems to be complete besides the holes in the floors of the car, the soft top and many other details that I have to inventory.
I have a lot of work to do before putting this old lady back on the road, especially the electrical system. This diagram will be very useful to me.
I would also like to make improvements to the vehicle's functionality. I then need to have them included on this diagram.
Would it be possible to get the source (Autocad or other software?)?
Thanks again for this impressive reconstruction work.

Well, to me the diagram is great. Haven't found any faults. Easy to wipe off if any dirt. So even though its a lot of money its worth it.

Anders - How is that classicarwiring.com diagram? I have been thinking about buying it to use as a source to update to my diagram, but I suspect it had no more info or detail than the B/W version.

Nice to see a "home made" version.

I bought the largest version available from:

I created it by staring with the widely available black and white one - which I also found too hard to follow - and redrawing it in color. I also used a few different sources to add information (e.g., wire gauge, bulb numbers) and accessory wiring to get almost everything on one drawing. I think this version has everything for my car except the Autronic Eye system, which I'll add eventually.

Good to know it is helping others and that I can give a little back to this group I've learned lots from.

Karl, did you create this wiring diagram? It's so much easier to follow than the black & white version. Thanks for providing it. Also Jason, thanks for posting it.

1964 power steering sector rebuild

Posted by CHRIS CARLSON on March 20, 2023 at 11:32pm 3 Comments

I'm having my steering sector rebuilt, and considering changing it from 20-1 ratio 4.2 turns lock to lock to 3.5 turns lock to lock @ 16-1 ratio, If i change from a 3 1/4" box to a 3" box i could have a 14-1 Ratio steering response would be faster, shorter distance to turn the wheel to get a response,   has anyone done this? and how do you like it? thank you

Need help with a hood latch

Posted by Curtis Dover on January 2, 2023 at 5:23pm 0 Comments

Hey guys, I need some help.  Could someone send me some pictures on how the first hood release lever on a factory 1964 Cadillac is set up, where it comes though the grille. Not the secondary one. I need to know where the thumb or finger position is located through the grille. Is it above or below the center grille molding piece? Mine seems to be positioned behind the center molding piece and will not adjust above or below the molding. I have a wire tied to it to release it…
