Greetings Everyone. I read a discussion thread about "radiator and related", covering coolant overflow. Has anyone fitted an overflow reservoir / bottle to their 64 Cadillac? Is there if a particular universal reservoir that can be fitted and attached to the radiator support housing or the passenger inner fender? Then insert the overflow tube into the reservoir? Thoughts / suggestions?
I am monitoring coolant overflow and / or possible mixing with the oil. If an overflow reservoir doesn't clear up the puddle on the garage floor, I will investigate a possible head gasket issue.

Several folks run the generic square coolant overflow tank. I see this in 99% of the uses. Amazon.com: Dorman 54002 Engine Coolant Recovery Kit Universal Fit ...
I mount mine on the RF inner fender right behind the radiator core support.
Thanks Russ. I'll check out the one you recommend.
Hi Michael,
I have a 64 Series 62 and albeit it never had an overflow for coolant, I decided to install one for safe measure. I found one that fit perfectly between the grill and the metal frame. Only had to drill one hole (the other was there) and it works perfectly. My email is ddibari56@gmail.com and can give you a picture and details.

Hi Mike,
Any luck with the coolant overflow tank we talked about for your Caddy?

I used a Dorman 603-001 coolant reservoir, and you will see a 6-connection fuse block I mounted under it for power to the headlight relays and eventually a four way flasher power. I drilled thru 3/8" bolts as spacers for the reservoir. The reservoir looks crooked, but it is parallel to the engine. The hose across the reservoir is a currently unhooked a/c line.
Hey Bill
I was checking out your coolant reservoir looks good,You should have the positive battery terminal covered in the case of an accident it will cause a dead short which may lead to a fire and we don’t want that to happen.happy motoring 😀

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
