Hello all,
I’m in the middle of swapping out the front fender skirt backing brackets on my ’64 Fleetwood and had a quick question for the group. I picked up a beautiful fresh set of cadmium plated brackets from Jason Edge—top-notch as always—and got both sides of the skirt brackets swapped over.
But… I ran into a bit of a head-scratcher trying to access the backing bracket that’s up in the fender for the front bracket. I couldn’t quite figure out how to get the old one out and the new one in. Has anyone tackled this before and found a good method? I just reused the old one for now, but that left me with two backing plates I wasn’t able to use yet!
On a related note, one of my favorite things about working on these cars is taking off 60-year-old hardware and still finding traces of the original gold cad plating—so cool to see that factory finish holding up after all these years. Makes replacing them with freshly plated parts feel all the more satisfying.
Any advice or tips would be appreciated!

Logan, The rear facing thick nut strips are in the open, accessible and seen and is why I include those in the set and not the fronts, that are hidden inside the body rocker area, unless requested.
Here is how I state it on the listing at this link ... note the last sentence.
"THE 30 PIECE SET IS $75. This includes all seen brackets and fasteners for left and right, front and rear fender skirt bracket. There are 2 unseen nuts strips behind the rocker and will throw those in no charge if requested."
Unless you cut into the car I don't think they are accessible. If you did not request the extra nut strips I might have accidentally included them. I figured this was the best way to sell the set as it would e confusing to send something you would have to cut into the body of the car to install.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up.
