Coil Springs is one part I generally do not sale (who wants a tired used coil spring), but it is also one of those items I just can't let go up. I have painted them, stuck lights in them, put them here, put them there, use them as yard art, etc. ... but just keep moving them around.  I keep thinking I am going to "Make Something", but not sure what.

Today I was moving transmissions and coil springs around, making way for a privacy fence next to our old cookhouse and thought I might share a picture or two. I bet some of you have some cool ideas.

Check out the pictures below and consider what you might use them for...other than a couple of bucks at the metal yard.

Well... off the top of my head this comes to mind. Looks like they sell for a good price. You could start another side hustle : )

Cool! I had forgotten about those playground spring rides. That would definitely be one use for them. Need to make the top a little Cadillac car though.

Some of you that go way back with the Chapter may remember some of these "coil spring classic pictures" from years past, but thought it might be interesting to repost a few of them.

First up, is one of my wife Cheryl painting a few different colors.  I am sure these were earmarked strictly for garden yard art.

I have dozens if not hundreds of these low voltage LED lights with the old insulators glued to the top everywhere in the yard, down walkways etc, but have been known to put coil springs around those next to the garage. Not sure why, but I got away from that.

Here is a wider angle showing more of my yard art. I know any of you that grew up in the 1970's has an R2D2 in their yard... right?... right!

Here is a set I was painting at  some time way back. Just to note, if you end up with several cans of half used old black spray paint, painting they coil springs and other yard art is good use of them!

Since it is getting colder and closer to winter time, Here is a picture from winters past where I simply lined a back corner deck with coil springs. The looked pretty cool in the snow.

Jason,

Some of these pictures are priceless - you and your wife did good work with the springs!

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
