There was discussion on the CLC Forum about the Bill Hirsch vs Seymour Cadillac Blue and I ordered 3 cans of the Seymour paint and did a side by side paint test today in nice sunny, low humidity, no wind weather using both paints.
Either I ordered the wrong paint or in my eyes the Seymour paint is way off as it is quite a bit lighter and more blue-blue than the original paint.
For the test I used two primed engine valley covers. The one on the left was painted with Bill Hirsch…

As the fall approaches I'm going to address some areas on my 64 Coupe DeVille and will share restoration progress via message posts with photos and videos. Some of the items such as the hood to shroud seal in this post are minor while some like repainting the dash, reinstalling the A/C, and others will be larger in scope.
I am not going to get in a rush but want to continue making some progress and see if I can get the Caddy…

Just a quick personal observation before heading in for the night. I was browsing through this month's Hemmings Motor news and knew there were companies that would repair and polish stainless trim but I counted 18 companies spread all over the US...several in FL. ...up east, out west. I wanted to list a couple in our Help and/or Parts Suppliers page but don't have a clue which companies are the good ones and which ones are those you want to steer clear of?
Has anyone had any…

Hello everyone, I am considering the install of the basic pertronix unit, but wanted to ask if its required to remove the distributor from the engine to add the spacer above the gear at the bottom of the shaft? If yes why does this have to be done?

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
