hi all
i need an intake manifold it anyone can advise if they know of one. also I have sourced one here in Australia but it appears to be off a 1960 engine. I have been told 3 stories - one that it will bolt in - one that it will need an extra gasket and one that it wont fit. anyone have any experience fitting older intake manifolds to 64 engines>?

the manifold i have has another number at the back on top - 1477867 or similar. is that of any importance?
John,
It's a bit confusing looking at the different Master Parts Books for different years. In the 66, 67 and 68 the intake manifold section 3.265 lists a different intake manifold from 59 to 62 (part # 351 2079) vs the 63 to 66 intake (part # 363 2870), yet in the 1969 Master Parts Book it listts 59 to 66 as the same intake part # (363 2870). I know the cylinder heads are the same mounting areas but my notes know the physical shape of the core block changes a bit i that the 63 390 was it had shorther length + height. It seems going with the 69 Master parts book you can use the earlier intake manifolds. If someone knows for sure I would like to know so I can update my notes.

Hey! I’ve seen the 63/64 power booster and master cylinder combination has been covered very clearly. I’m in the process of replacing mine. I was hoping someone could give me insight on a specific…Continue

Hello, possibly looking a neutral safety switch for a 1964 Deville with the TH-400 and tilt steering. Also, possibly looking for an oil filter housing assembly for a 1964 429 motor. Starting to get…Continue

I meant to make this a priority over the winter and didn't get that far. I've tried to source all the parts individually, but that is a daunting task. Partly because I don't want to miss any…Continue

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
