I need a little help with my THM transmission lines. I need to know what any fastening hardware looks like and where to fasten them. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks. Really need to know how many fasteners and where they go. Thanks again.

Here is photo how the lines are attached in front of the block. I hope it helps.

Yes!!! Thank you. And I see where they are attached right before the starter. Are there any more? I want to thank everyone who has helped out. Trying to finish this up after 19 years of messing with it.

Bought a new set some years ago at OPGI, linings fit perfect but connections between rad and lines AND trans and lines were planned direct, no rubber hoses between.

That is the right way, no rubber hoses.

Original is with small rubber hoses between on both ends.

Different on the 64?

Bill, I meant to get back to this yesterday but never made it back here. The 1964 Turbo Hydramatic has 2 metal lines from transmission to radiator.  This is completely different setup from the 1963-64 Hydramatics that had short rubber hoses at the transmission.
So back to the 64 THM, there are fittings that screw into the transmission and fittings that screw into the bottom of the radiator. They looks similar but are a bit different and I have them for $10 each.

As far as the lines bracing against the engine as it runs forward:

for the 64 Turbo Hydramatic transmission you have a double line clamp at front and rear  corner of oil pan. At the front you also have an extention brace/bracket that holds the lines out away form the engine. On that bracket end you have a 1/4”-20 U-Clip nut and 1/2” long 1/4-20 bolt with external lock washer head.  At the oil pan you have thin jam nuts that attach the rear clamp and front clamp and brace to the oil pan.

I have 6 of the 7 pieces cad plated. I thought I might have that front bracket but done. I did have one on an trans line and cleaned I up with a wire brush which you see below. the price for all 7 pieces as pictured is $30.  I may have more of that front extension brace at the cad platers with current batch but do not remember any more. I will not be surprised if I don't run across somewhere sometime in my garage.

So here is a picture of the trans line to rear engine and front engine at corners of the oil pan, brackets and front brace:

Thanks everybody!

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
