This may be more of a 60s problem but I have issues with the exhaust system getting pretty banged up over bumps with two adults sitting in the rear. All is fine without rear passengers. The car is running new (Autozone) shocks all around and P235/75 tires. The exhaust system is 2 years old and the muffler seems to take the majority of the abuse. Is there a placement issue or does the car really need an air shock setup in the rear? Thanks ahead of time.

hi all
there is a heater hose that goes from the water pump to the heater tap. it appears there is a factory canal for this to follow but would appear to be a moulded hose needed there. I am just using normal heater hose that can not turn the 2 90 degree bends. is this moulded hose available?

Rarely does Classic Cadillac Parts deliver items, but for those of you headed to Boston (or along the way) I will be glad to pack the Escalade EXT with large, heavy items you might need.
I have several engine blocks, many cylinder heads, tons of radiator supports, inner fender wells, at least a dozen…

I've ended up with two new 64 Cadillac trunk flip cover Crests (extra was just sold) and no springs as I can't find my old one now! I need a good solid flip cover spring. If anyone has a good solid one email me at jasonedge@nc.rr.com. 2 to 3 day priority shipping in a small flat rate box will be fine.
Also still looking for the 1964 Turbo Hydramatic Tilt Gear Shift lever with the Dark Sandalwood end cap in nice condition.
Jason.

I have figured out why the power seat in my '63 convertible moves so slowly. The motor works fine by itself, but the gears in the power seat transmission are really sticky. When you turn the input shaft by hand it is hard to make it turn, they are so sticky. What do you clean the old stuff off with? The gears are nylon. I don't want to melt them with a solvent. After getting the sticky off, what type of lubricant…

"I need to replace the foam in the front seat cushion of my '63 convertible. Do pre-fabricated foam sets exist for this car? All I find are ones for the muscle cars and sports cars. Any recommendations for the type and thickness of foam to get, if I can't find pre-fabs?"

Happy Fourth of July for those of you in the USA and abroad celebrating our Independence Day.
I wanted to share a Red White and Blue picture that was Cadillac related and couldn't think of anything better than the fantastic cover of the current July 2013 with the Red, White and Blue 1953 Eldorados. (Of course 1963's or 1964's would have been very cool!).
With that said, check out the Cover below taken at last years Grand National and be sure to join the Cadillac LaSalle…

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
