Door Jamb Switches

Hi

After cleaning these switches several times, I need to give up on this switches. I understand there are some options (none of which I have used).  I understand

1. There is an AC Delco Part #F6035 (UPC 21625479576)

2. Airtex/Wells Part # 1S1098 used in 1968 Ford Falcons and Torinos (also has numbers 88924188, DOOZ13713A, DIAZ13713E, D70Z13713A and SW110)

3. A Mercedes 1999-2000 CLK430 switch (square) WO133-1893249

These are all 3-pole switches.  I would…

Gradual Progress on the Coupe DeVille

Starting to address some odds and ends on the 64 CDV here in the winter months. Some projects I've got going on:

- clock converted to quartz was installed today

- bought the correct Kleer-View label to go on the dealer installed anti freeze bottle. Other one I had did not match what is in the Accessories Booklet that comes with the owners manual...and this one is in color!

- seat trim was picked up from paint/body shop with fresh correct bahama sand paint. I wanted to…

64 Grill Disassembly

Can anybody give me some tips for disassembling the upper grill on a 64 deVille? I don't want to force anything and risk breaking it. I have the upper assembly removed from the car. The pieces look like they lock into place.

1963 FM/AM radio

I am running an original AM/FM radio and I want to improve my situation.

The radio works, However:

-       AM has some static, and is unusable at high speeds. This is not engine related. I think it is front wheel and speed related. At 70mph, I can turn the engine off and still have the problem. At a stop, it works. I understand there were noise suppressors in the front hubs. I heard these were routinely removed when the brakes were serviced. I do not have any.…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
