hi all - query about engine pinging. i am running high octane fuel but can detect some pinging in the engine under load. i suspect i need to adjust timing - retard timing to reduce ping from memory - can someone advise clockwise or counter clockwise to retard the timing or any other advice cheers

Years before there was an Eastern NC CLC Region I had joined the Carolina CLC Region which is based in Charlotte and the western part of North Carolina. Well, I was a member on paper only as I never made it out to any meet-ups. In 2006 the Eastern NC CLC Region was formed and I was at the very first meet-up at McCalls Restaurant in Clayton, NC on Feb 25, 2006 and have been active off and on in our own Raleigh and Eastern NC based region.

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
