Check power line going into the driver door. Wires often break in this area. Also check connector and wiring at switch below arm rest switch panel.

would anyone know which wire runs to the window terminal on the fuse box. i have nothing hooked up and my windows have no power, thought that might be good first step.1963 deville if that matters.

If you have power seats and windows you should have a large 40 amp circuit breaker fuse as seen in upper right of picture below. If you need one and can't find one I have them in good working order (and better looking than one below) for $5 + s/h. Here is the picture:

Thanks for the info. As you probably know the 63s windows are always hot, key or not. As a child I would sit in my grandfather's 63 CDV, the one I have now, and play with the power windows & power seats all the time. Back then only the finest cars had these features. Just one of the many reasons I fell in love with this car.

The Lock Out switch was a new feature for 1964 that allowed the driver to "lock out" passengers from controlling their windows (good for small kids in car) or in Emergency position you could operate all windows without key. Good for emergency where key is not in the ignition or not working. (I use it to show off my power vent windows when I don't have my keys with me!)

Just to add, the lockup switch is on the very front of the arm rest switch panel where the Power Door Lock switch had been in 1963.  For 1964 if you had power door locks on the Deville and Fleetwood 60S the swich was up on the door.  This is why when someone asks for a 63 /64 arm rest switch plate I follow up with about a 1/2 dozen questions because there are so many variations if you have power vents, power door locks, right sight power bucket seat, and the particular year.

Here's the typical 1964 arm rest switch plate with 4 way window switch and lockup switch and power bench seats:

Here's one with Right side power bucket seat control, power side window and power vent window cutouts.

Jason, just for my education, do 63s have a cutout switch relay?

Starter Solenoid replacement-how difficult? Where to buy?

Posted by Norman Silverman on August 20, 2019 at 8:24pm 8 Comments

Hello All.

I believe the starter solenoid has gone bad in my 64 DeVille. When I turn the key, often all I get is a click, then if I try a few times again the starter turns perfectly. All battery cables are on tight and the battery is good. So, I believe this problem is the solenoid. Where do I buy the right solenoid and is it necessary to remove the starter in order to swap it out? …

Upper A Arm Rubber Bumpers

Posted by Gene McIlroy on August 12, 2019 at 1:30pm 3 Comments

I have found a very good replacement part for the Upper A Arm Bumpers.  The top part is identical to the originals the bottom can be used as is or after a few minutes with a belt sander can be ground to the V shape as the originals were.  The replacement bumpers are for a 2001 to 2005 S10 Sanoma or Blazer.  Part number is on the box in the photos.  First photo is the box next to the box is the S10 part and an original.  Next photo shows my sanded down part next to an original.…
