I am working on a 63 Fleetwood series 62.
Does anyone have experience gapping the doors and what is the procedure from point A to B, what is the starting point? I can not get them just right, I looked up the gaps they are to be 3/16 to 1/4. I started from the back doors and am trying to work my way to the fenders. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all. Been gone a while and suffered through a computer melt-down. What a pain in the posterior!
Well, I found another "old school" auto tech that was very familiar with the AC system on the old girl. It turns out I had a major leak at the STV(suction Throttling valve). We ordered an update kit for it off epay for $75. This thing isn't easy to get to as its stuck between the fender and hood hinges. I guess there's an access panel on the fender well that can be removed once you take…

I had to swap Cadillacs today to get the 1964 Cadillac Parts car on the Car Hauler to finish up, however, there was a 1963 Parts car that had to be removed first and needed to have the 63 end up where the 64 had been parked. I ended up chaining the 64 to the car hauler to be able to pull it out and get it over in the center, so I could…

I am like a kid in a Cadillac Candy Store when I am pulling these cars apart. This one was especially fun since it matches my personal 1964 CDV and several parts off this car have already found their way to 'Dino!". Weather Permitting I will knock most of this car out this weekend. Tools are set, and I am ready to GET IT…

I have a 63 Fleetwood 60 special. I shut my trunk today and it will not release with the vacuum or the key, I can not get it to unlock. I could really use some help with this rather frustrating issue. Thank you.

Good morning, Can someone tell me if I am missing something. I have removed four screws to change burned out bulbs in the back of my 64 SDV, but the plastic lenses will not come out. Are there also bolts from the back. I know it is very simple, but I do not want to force it. I have posted photos to show what I am talking about. Thanks

As my wife and I were pulling into our regular spot at the local car show, our 1964 Classic Cadillac was immediately surrounded by several people. The method in which they swarmed the car was rather alarming, as they approached with such intensity. THAT IS MY OLD CAR shouted a very excited Man. Really said I- what is your name? Sure enough his name was on the Vehicle History and a long and interesting story was soon told. He owned our car from 1977 to 1987 and was able to fill in many blanks…

Hi, I'm hoping some of the other members here can chime in on this if they have experience with this. My convertible top motor burned out and while I was replacing it, I noticed the driver's side top cylinder was leaking. I ordered a new one and removed the current one and the bracket that attaches to it would not come off. It is held on with two philips head screws. One side came off with ease. The other completely stuck even after multiple shots of WD-40. Is one of the sides reverse…

On the drivers side on the front near the rad is a small steel box near wires going to the headlights, parking lights etc. It is warm all the time and clicking- even with the engine off and keys out. It looks like a transformer to me. Any ideas what is going on here?

Now that my girl has a new heater core and everything inside the dash looks good, I was wondering.....My AC is blowing cold air but noticed the Air Flow could be better. Does the Transducer control Fan Speed? Is my blower motor ready for replacement? I was also thinking of adding additional Radiator Cooling Fans to help the air flow through the condenser at idle.
Any opinions or options would be welcome.
Thanks

Hi Guys and Gals,
Can anyone please tell me the proper procedure for logging onto the CLC websites Self Starter Online. My general user name and password does not work and the gentleman who is responsible for this has ignored several email requests. He replied to my first question by simply asking me if I've received the email on July 1st? I have replied back to him 4 times with no response. "No I Have Not Received That Email".
Thanks all.
Lou

Hi Everyone, I just installed new reproduction 1964 Cadillac rear seat belts in my SDV. Will these old style seat belts work with a new child seat? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Thought I would report back on my latest investment in my "rolling bank account". I finally found someone with knowledge of these old rigs that actually cares about whether things are right when they leave his shop
The original radiator had some green spots in it and some of the fins were starting to separate. It wasn't leaking yet, but figured it was just a matter of time. After considering re-coring the original or replacing, I opted to replace. Since I'm not "restoring" the car,…

My 1964 429 has a loose water pump pulley. I have taken everything apart four times and still cannot get it to seat tight against the water pump. The shaft on the water pump is still tight with no play. I fear this vibration will ruin the bearings if I do not get this fixed. I am not driving this car until it gets repaired. The four bolts go through the fan blade, spacer , and pulley. They will not go any tighter, yet still the pulley has lots of play. Any advice would be greatly…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
