Question for the 75 Series Experts

I posted this on the 75 Series forum trying to help a contact and thought I would throw it out here also:

On the Body Name Plate on the 75 series I have pulled in over the years, following the word BODY is always the initials DC.  ON 62 & 63 series for the 1963's and 1964's I deal with it is FW which I understood to mean it was assembled at Fisher Body's Fleetwood Plant.

In the book "Cadillac Fleetwood Series Seventy – Five Limousines 1937 – 1987"…

Retaining Clips needed

012.JPGI am putting on a new hood to cowl seal on my 63' and there are three missing clips. I was wondering if anyone has any of these that they would be interested in selling to me.  I have attached a photo of the clip I am talking about.  You can email me at dejdmeloan@Hotmail.com.    Thanks, Doug

7000, 600, 150, 12, 11 ...Spanning Several Hundred Contacts

Wonder what these numbers are?

Right now I average 7000 Cadillac related emails a year, 600 emails a month, and 150 emails a week, spanning several hundred contacts, members, and customers asking about parts or questions about the 1963 and 1964 Cadillacs, which includes 12 body styles in 1963 and 11 body styles in 1964.

Couple that fact with there is a general misunderstanding that '62 series', DeVilles, Fleetwoods, and Eldo's, while sharing many similar "components", are…

Chapter Member Michael Petrey Has Passed Away

Guys, I just read some really sad news regarding one of our fellow chapter members Michael Petrey. Please see note below and keep Dona and her family in your prayers. I am especially shocked because I did not know there was a health issue with Mike.

Hi All:  Mike fought the "good fight" but the Lord wanted him and took him home this afternoon.  We were in each…

Interesting find in trunk of my 63. Nope - its not a body.

I found this rather beat up trophy in the trunk of my recently purchased 63 4window. The previous owner had no history on it, or much on the car. He had owned it for 11 years and never did much with it except put a cheap paint job on it. Orig color was Benton Blue but its currently a little more blue that.

The trophy says Cadillac Club International - 1st…

Couple More Questions - 63 SDV

Man, this thing's really making me feel stupid. What air filter are you all using for you 63 Caddy?

I've tried several at my local parts supplier and none seem to be quite tall enough. Wix calls for 42080 but it don't seem right. The old filter is right at 3.25" high and most I've found are 3.04" or so. Too much gap at the top when its screwed down. The number on the decal on the air cleaner is A 96 C. Do I have the correct cleaner housing?

Also, been researching drive train…

Website URL www.6364cadillac.com Still Down --> Use www.6364cadillac.ning.com for Now

I've been back and forth with the folks at Register.com that host the domain name www.6364cadillac.com and provide the website forwarding to the actual web address www.6364cadillac.ning.com

Bottom line it is still down and I have asked them escalate immediately and put highest priority on this ticket so hopefully we will see a fix in the near future.

In the meantime please continue to use…

Happy New Years to All of our 1963/64 Cadillac Chapter and Website Members!

I had a quiet New Year's with my wife Cheryl having to work, so I hooked up the 2nd DropCam Pro facing the other direction over the garage deck and side yard, and had Cheryl online at midnite via her iphone from work. With the drop cam she can see us and zoom around, and speak but when she speaks the recorded video drops sound. Check our quaint New Years Eve out with me on the Garage Deck and Cheryl at work talking to us via…

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 13 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
