Jason, Would you like the dimensions?

I read a comment you made about the splash guard for the battery. Would you like the dimensions?

Here are specs on the masticated rubber shield in front of battery on 1964 Cadillacs with a couple of pictures with one installed:
Battery Acid Radiator Support Shield

part # 148 4126 "On grill upper support"
Per Jimmy Davis - 12 1/2" wide, 13 3/8" tall, 2" down, 1 1/4" from right side

Hey thanks! I was glad to be of help. I will really appreciate the splash apron too. It will cover the AC Delco sticker on the battery from showing through my grill.

Hi Jimmy. Battery Splash Apron along with the small upper grill bracket and screw and washer  and is going out tomorrow priority mail.  Thanks for all the feedback. I went ahead and cut holes per your specs and put it on my 64 CDV to make sure of the fit.  The small clip is attached thru the apron where it would mount. Thanks! Jason.

I can include the bracket from a donor grill assembly.

The hole the arrow is pointing to was where it was still attached to the parts car by the half inch bolt in front of the battery. I would like to have the other bolt as well, but the small bracket that it screws into is also missing on both of my cars.

Note. I can send you the small 3/8" screws. They are very common and used quite a bit to hold other items on the firewall and radiator support.

OK.. so the hole with indention is the upper right..not the upper left and the 1 1/4" offset is off the right passenger edge., I thought it was the upper left and was looking at it flipped around. See red arrow below:

Im missing the bolt that is circled in green in the photo that you uploaded, the 3/8 bolt. The indention of the piece I have was made by the 1/2 bolt on the parts car. The 3/8 bolt is also missing from my parts car but is consistent to where it should have been. I am all for accuracy and would also like to see another example for verification.

That is interesting because I watched through the grill from the side as I closed the hood even with just 3/4" above in 2nd picture and it touched and pressed the apron down a bit. I had it held in place with a large sharpe wedged between the battery and apron.  One other thought was that someone had put the lower corner radiator support apron up on your car but I measured a few in my parts bin and while one dimension was similar the other was way off. I'm wondering if the few I've seen over the years had the top that would extend above the grill ridge broken off making me thing from my fuzzy memory that it was about even with the top of the grill bar?

Just a couple more questions. it looks like from your picture it seems like the indentions are consistent of where they bolt up.  Is that your observation?

Also, I'm a bit confused on which bolt of yours is missing. The right side would be the large 1/2" upper grill brace bolt and the upper left would be the smaller 3/8" metal screw bolt. Which of yours is missing?

Finally, I've been scouring ebay, my parts car pictures (I've got a ton of them) and trying to come up with at least one other "factory looking example.  I can go ahead and cut yours to the specs you provided Upper left 1 1/4" over and 2" down, and ship one to you.  If you want us to do some more digging we can wait.

I need to replace the bulbs for the speedometer cluster in my instrument panel..

Before I open up the dash, I want to have the necessary bulbs on hand.

Can someone help me determine what bulbs I need, the number of bulbs I need,  and where to purchase them?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Temperature gauge not working properly

Posted by SK on March 23, 2022 at 2:43pm 2 Comments

The temperature gauge of my 63 Eldorado does not work properly.

It goes slowly all the way up and stays there, while the true temperature is around 155-160 F (water in the radiator and/or the top of the thermostat housing).

Where should I start to solve the problem? The gauge itself, the temperature sensor, or the wiring? Or something else? The sensor is a new (aftermarket part)…
