1963 Cadillac 390 engine and transmission for sale

I hope Im posting this in the right spot  Please forgive if Im not and maybe I can get some guidance on where to post items for sale...

Anyway, I am pulling the 390 and trans out of my 63 and doing an LS swap, so I have the motor and trans up for sale. I cant tell how many miles are on it, but I can tell you that it is a running car...actually did a couple burnouts in the car today before parking it and getting it ready for a complete restoration. Trans shifts good and didn't notice any slipping. If I don't sell the motor and trans complete, I will disassembling it and selling it for parts. Not sure what its worth, so I will take offers. I'd prefer not to ship and have the buyer pick it up. Message me if you're interested.

I have a line on a 65 429 & T400 trans. Came out of a 65 Limo, so it will drop right in.  This combo is running, and selling for pennies on the dollar. I think 400 will take both.

email me at  russ85747@hotmail.com for contact info.

Steve is the 390 engine and transmission is still available on this post.  I am in need of the engine, but would take both.  Thanks for your assistance

I will be documenting the whole build of the car, so when I get to the engine part of the build I will be sure to post it on here.

As for engine mounts...I dont know yet.  There are many companies that make the mount plates.  You just have to figure out what actual rubber mount you will use and how to mount it to the frame.  It will all be documented and posted on here.

Are you makeing engine mounts for ls swap or are you buying them . Do you have a source for them.  Any info on swap would be great.

Posted by Matthew VanDeWater on June 22, 2021 at 3:03pm 1 Comment

Hello I've been restoring a 63 for way to many years. Down to almost done, but have issue with trans linkage, when column in park shift rod 2 inches short. everything original. been trying to find picture of manual rod hooked up from under car to see position of linkage. was wondering if anybody has access for pictures. I wanted to see if my manual linkage is bent  wrong out of the trans if somebody dropped the trans or something. Doesn't make sense why it doesn't work. Thanks for any input…

Torque converter grab when idling in Drive

Posted by Cliff Johnston on June 14, 2021 at 8:47pm 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, been quite a while since i have been on here.

I have had an issue with the idle on my 64 Coupe Deville ever since i have had it.

With the Idle set high enough that it is smooth, but still a nice idle, the RPM seems only slightly too high for the stall of the Torque Converter. And therefore it tends to sit there and grab and lunge a bit. So until now, i have been putting the car in Neutral at the lights to stop this happening.

I've had the car dyno tuned and…

Can you help? Driveshaft Question....

Newbie to the group here - we have already found tons of invaluable information on the board, so thanks! We are restoring a 1963 Series 62 Convertible. We are wondering if anyone knows of a source to buy the propellor yoke flange (that bolts to the pinion flange) for the driveshaft? One of our ears partially broke off. Not sure if we can buy just the yoke flange as an aftermarket part, or if it has to be rebuilt by a welder/fab guy? Maybe a salvage yard for a source? Again, any…
